The Liberian Community Association joins the Sackar and Collins families, friends, community leaders, and members of the Liberian community in mourning the passing of Benedict Sackar, grandson of the late Mrs.
Charity Cooper Collins and her husband, Mr Emmanuel Collins.
Benedict was laid to rest today at Rosedale Cemetery in Linden, New Jersey, the same cemetery where his late grandmother, Mrs Charity Cooper Collins, was previously laid to rest.
His burial there created a poignant family connection and a lasting place of remembrance.
A solemn funeral service was held at the Jehovah’s Witnesses Hall, 866 Morris Avenue,
Bronx, New York. Members of the congregation eulogized Benedict through Bible-based teachings and reflections on Jehovah, offering comfort, encouragement, and hope to the bereaved family and those gathered to pay their final respects.
The service was attended by Liberians of diverse backgrounds and persuasions, community leaders, family members, friends, and well-wishers from the Liberian community in New York City and surrounding areas. Among those present were Benedict’s mother, Ms. Eva Sackar, his brothers, aunts, uncles, extended family members, and friends. Mr. Emmanuel Collins, husband of Benedict’s late grandmother, was also present as part of the family’s circle of support.
The Liberian Community Association extends its deepest condolences to Ms. Eva Sackar, Benedict’s siblings, the extended Sackar and Collins families, and all who knew and loved him.
The Association sincerely appreciates everyone who attended the funeral, offered prayers, traveled to support the family, and provided comfort during this difficult period.
The strong presence of the Liberian community demonstrated the enduring values of family, unity, compassion, and solidarity among Liberians in the diaspora.
As Benedict takes his final earthly rest at the same cemetery where his grandmother was laid to rest, may his memory remain a source of comfort to all who loved him.
May the late Benedict Sackar rest in peace, and may Jehovah provide comfort, strength, and hope to his family and loved ones.
